The Crickhills Cruisers are a handful of good friends with a love for going off-roading n playing music around a campfire! They often encourage friends and family to pick up a mic, bring a keyboard, or use whatever they can find (around the house) to use as an instrument. . . . Which usually works perfect for a collaborative porch jam vibe! Its not uncommon for the members to serve as background music out in the yard while the kids of their close friends take the mic front and center to sing along !!! A few of The Crikhills Cruisers are excited to perform a good mix of bluegrass, folk, country, and alternative originals and covers this weekend!
Jared Squires is a self-taught musician from Florida whose sound bridges the raw energy of Rock 'n' Roll with the soul of classic Americana. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences including Mike Krol, George Harrison, Buddy Holly, Kurt Cobain, Bob Dylan, Ty Segall, Tiny Tim, and Hank Williams — Jared weaves together elements of Pop, Grunge, Folk, and vintage rock into his own distinctive style. A modern-day troubadour, Jared travels from town to town with his acoustic guitar in hand,delivering stripped-down, heartfelt performances that reflect both his restless spirit and love for timeless songwriting. His music pays homage to the greats while carving out a lane uniquely his own. Whether he's channeling the grit of garage rock or the warmth of classic folk ballads, Jared Squires is a storyteller at heart and every stage he steps onto becomes part of his journey.

Come out and support Scottdale’s own local guitarist and songwriter, bringing nearly 13 years of self-taught experience on electric guitar to Porchfest. He likes writing his own stuff, but he’s just as happy messing around with a song and seeing where it goes. Requests are welcome, and if you throw one his way, there’s a good chance he’ll try to build something around it on the spot. He’s also spent time playing in the Pittsburgh scene as guitarist for the pop-punk band "Fade The Silence", so Porchfest won’t exactly be his first time plugging in in front of a crowd. So bring a request, find a spot near the porch and put him to work. Just remember, shouting "Free Bird!” may result in objects being thrown in your general direction.
Based in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, independent singer-songwriter Steve Hawk delivers a raw, stripped-down brand of acoustic rock and roll. Transitioning from his roots as the frontman for the Pittsburgh rock band Forgotten Nobody (2005–2008), Hawk carries his songwriting experience into a minimalist solo act using just an acoustic guitar and honest, blues-laced vocals. His performance and writing have earned multiple Iron City Rocks Pittsburgh Music Awards, including honors for Best Singer/Songwriter, Best Vocalist, and Best Song. Backed by a studio catalog that features the album 9 Hells and the single "Glutton For Punishment," Hawk maintains a consistent performance presence across Western Pennsylvania venues like the Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh.
Born and raised in a small town outside Pittsburgh, songwriter and producer Brenna Slate created her musical project Lounna out of a love for storytelling. Brenna went to school at Southmoreland and is very much a local to the area, so this one comes with a little hometown connection. Lounna blends indie folk, rock and Americana into a sound Brenna calls “dreamy cottagerock.” After Porchfest, we’re hoping we can convince her to change it to “porch rock.” We may be slightly biased. Think warm, nostalgic melodies paired with deeply personal songwriting about grief, healing, hope and trying to live life a little more intentionally. In January 2025, Lounna released her sophomore album Garden For Winter, a collection of songs built around resilience, perseverance and the idea that even the longest winter eventually gives way to spring. Co-produced with local engineer and producer Daniel Blake, the album also features collaborations with Gabrielle Gutierrez and Reliable Child and earned Lounna recognition as WYEP’s Pittsburgh Artist of the Week during its release. From her earlier releases When I’m Home and When I’m Home (Again) through Garden For Winter, Brenna has built her music around honest storytelling, folk melodies and those quieter moments most of us spend pretending we aren’t thinking about anything. It’s thoughtful, warm and a little dreamy, which sounds like pretty good porch music to us.
Marty Zundel is a veteran singer-songwriter and guitarist delivering authentic, heartfelt Americana roots music. Drawing inspiration from folk, country rock, bluegrass, and classic R&B, Marty has been performing across Western Pennsylvania for decades, both solo and alongside full bands. His original discography includes albums such as Six Hundred Miles and Bakersfield to Beaumont, with new projects continually in production. Whether taking the stage solo or backed by a band, Marty brings a deep respect for musical storytelling to every performance.
DNR Acoustic Duo is Scottdale’s own Rebecca and Dave Smith, a husband and wife team bringing a hometown mix of southern rock, classic country and plenty of songs you’ll probably recognize before they get through the first few chords. Rebecca and Dave both sing, with Dave on guitar. Their set pulls from artists like Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Pure Prairie League, Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, The Rolling Stones and Blackberry Smoke. And DNR isn’t planning on just playing a quick set and calling it a day. They’re going for a full three hour Porchfest marathon, playing for whoever happens to wander by. Come for a few songs, leave to catch another porch and circle back later. Chances are, Rebecca and Dave will still be there making music. It’s a little country, a little rock and a whole lot of familiar music made for sitting back, singing along and enjoying a summer afternoon. And really, a Scottdale couple playing for whoever comes and goes on a porch in their own hometown sounds like Porchfest doing exactly what Porchfest is supposed to do.
Come out and support Scottdale’s own Rosemary Furman as she brings her autoharp and warm vocal style to the stage! Performing a cozy blend of oldies, folk classics and country favorites, Rosemary is a local favorite at regional festivals, open mics and the Dawson Opry. Joining Rosemary from just down the road in Mount Pleasant will be Tom Pipak, a longtime musician and guitar instructor who has been playing and teaching professionally since 1999. Tom sings, plays guitar and other instruments and brings years of experience performing at fairs, festivals, restaurants and private events. Together, Rosemary and Tom will bring a relaxed mix of familiar songs, acoustic music and hometown charm to Porchfest.

Quivering Hinge is an independent rock & roll band based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The group focuses on original songwriting alongside a mix of covers, bringing an authentic and practical energy to the regional music scene.They introduced their core sound on the EP Squeaky Sampler (Demo Version), featuring tracks like "Run Sasquatch Run!" and "Digging Ditches to your Heart."Active performers throughout western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, Quivering Hinge regularly plays local venues, First Friday events, and regional festivals like Fellowship of the Pines.
Soundforge may have found the most rock & roll way possible to end up on our Porchfest lineup. Soundforge is a local high school garage band writing their own music and playing a mix of alt rock and metalcore. Before we had ever connected with them, they had already listed themselves on the national Porchfest website as wanting to perform. We happened to spot the listing and realized we had absolutely no idea who these kids were. So we did what any reasonable person would do when it loses a high school rock band. We put out a post asking the entire town to help us find them. Their mom saw it. And that’s when we discovered one small detail Soundforge apparently hadn’t gotten around to mentioning at home yet. They had volunteered their own house for the concert. So, yes. We accidentally told on them. Still, signing your band up to play a concert at your house without first informing your mother might be the most rock & roll thing that has happened during the planning of Porchfest. Soundforge describes themselves as a small high school startup band with hopes of producing their own music. Their Porchfest set will feature a mix of songs they’ve written along with covers, including “Paths Align,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” “Seven Nation Army” and “Unfilled Spaces.” They’re young. They’re local. They’re writing their own music. And they were apparently ready to turn the house into a venue whether Mom knew it or not. That feels exactly like the kind of band Porchfest should have on a porch. So Scottdale, show up, cheer loud and show these kids some love. They took the leap and signed themselves up. The least we can do is make sure there’s a crowd waiting for them when they plug in.
Some bands send us a polished press kit. Finally Awake sent us themselves. What we got was a guy who spent more than 500 days learning Japanese for seemingly no reason, a guitarist who plays chess when he isn’t screaming into a microphone, a metalhead who cannot stop playing pinch harmonics, a drummer building an entire Warhammer army despite never actually playing Warhammer and a bass player who originally learned the instrument because his friend’s band needed somebody and he happened to be around. Finally Awake is a five piece Pittsburgh band bringing together emo, pop punk, rock and touches of J-Rock. On vocals is Jared. He’s into pop punk, Midwest emo, loud Japanese cars and apparently had enough spare determination lying around to spend more than 500 days learning Japanese. Charlie handles rhythm guitar and backing vocals. In his words, that means singing, screaming and jumping around with a guitar. He’s into Green Day, The Wombats and Noah Kahan. He also plays chess. Somebody apparently forgot to tell Charlie that chess players are supposed to be calm, quiet and at least a little nerdy. Instead we got this guy. Just goes to show you, stereotypes are mostly trash. Lead guitarist Ben is the band’s resident metalhead, anime and manga fan, artist and, in his own words, someone who “literally cannot stop playing pinch harmonics.” After further research using my increasingly worn copy of Music for Dummies, a pinch harmonic is apparently when you pick a guitar string and lightly catch it with your thumb at the same time, producing that high pitched squeal you hear in metal guitar. Or, for those of us who still need that translated. You hit the string in exactly the wrong way, except somehow it’s the right way, and the guitar screams at you. Ben apparently does this a lot. Behind the drums is Andy. He’s influenced by Travis Barker and the emo and punk bands of the 2000s. He likes simple, powerful beats and freely admits he doesn’t spend much time practicing his rudiments. He is, however, currently 3D printing an entire Warhammer 40K Tyranid army despite never actually playing Warhammer. Priorities. And holding down the bass is Cook, who became a bass player the traditional way. His friend’s high school band needed one and Cook happened to be standing nearby. These days he spends his free time checking out local bands and seeking out what he describes as the worst dive bars he can find. So there’s clearly no shortage of personality here. But underneath all of that chaos, Finally Awake takes the music itself seriously. Their original songs explore both the bright and dark sides of life and aren’t afraid to tackle things that can be difficult to talk about. The band says they write these stories as “a home for anyone who may need them,” and they mean anyone. They’re proud to be LGBTQ friendly and want the people at their shows to know they’re welcome there. The bios made us laugh. The reason they make music didn’t. There’s something pretty great about a band that can be ridiculous together and still make room for the parts of life that are anything but.
Sometimes finding the right musical partner takes a while. Nadine Douds and Matt Eddy had each been musicians on their own for years, living in different parts of the country and both hoping to eventually find the right person for a vocal duo. That part took some time. Then they found each other. Once Nadine and Matt started singing together, the fit was obvious. Their voices blended, their musical styles lined up and they discovered they could push into more adventurous harmonies without either one backing away from the idea. For both of them, that freedom matters. Being able to bring your full musical self into a duo and have the other person meet you there is a rare thing, and that connection is at the heart of Douds & Eddy. Their sound centers on acoustic guitar, thoughtful songwriting and layered vocal harmonies, with each bringing years of experience as individual musicians into the partnership. And now they’re taking the next step together. Douds & Eddy are currently working on their first album, which they expect to release by the end of 2026. The project is being recorded and produced through Incite Studio. For Porchfest, you’ll find Douds & Eddy at Grace Stone Mansion, where we’re planning something a little different for the evening. Along with the performance, there will be opportunities to get up and dance, and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages will be available free of charge. Unfortunately, while Grace Stone Mansion waits on the necessary permits, the interior of the mansion will not be open to the public during Porchfest. The music and festivities will take place outside on the property.

Mike will bring a lively, danceable mix of timeless standards from Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin, along with Elvis, The Beatles, classic rock, ’60s rock and roll, doo-wop, and maybe even a country favorite or two. A Mt. Pleasant native, Mike has been performing professionally since the age of 14. He made his theatrical debut at the Geyer Performing Arts Center, formerly the Scottdale Showtime Theater, and learned to sing in the choir at the nearby Trinity Methodist Church of Scottdale. His velvety voice has captivated audiences across a wide range of venues and events, including musicals, theatrical productions, operas, multiple bands, weddings, and concerts. Mike spent 20 years perfecting his sound in the jazz clubs, bars, and theatres of New York City, and he is thrilled to return home for Scottdale Porchfest to be part of this incredible community event.
